Motorcross evolved in the UK from motorcycle “Trials” (which I also competed in). Essentially it is fast off-road motorcycle racing held on enclosed circuits.

Motorcycle Speedway involves four to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. Most notably brakes are not permitted.
