Steve Inskeep is one of several NPR hosts I have worked with (Michele Norris, Tom Gjelten). For this project the focus was promoting his prescient new book Differ We Must: How Lincoln Succeeded in a Divided America. The new site is the third I have worked on for Steve with each version being optimized as technology, and how users interact, has changed over the years.
This latest version retains the user-generated content that was successful in promoting Jasksonland. People were able to send in images and short notes that were curated for the site. It proved to be a great way to increase engagement with the site. It also generated a huge amount of related key terms that would bring more readers organically to the site.
